Olsson’s Transport Pty Ltd is a privately owned transport company based in Warragul Victoria and operates a small fleet of long distance trucks across the country, primarily transporting machinery and building products.

The year was 1999 and in a small backyard workshop in Shepparton, Victoria RedRoo Shocks as it is known today was formed. Fast forward to 2016 and RedRoo Shocks are an industry leader in quality, high performance shock absorbers for the heavy vehicle market. This is the RedRoo story.
In the world of off road racing, suspension is the most crucial component, being tested to extreme levels during competition. It was from this environment that Graeme Robertson and Ian Linklater began working on production of their own custom shock absorbers by hand. The lessons learned were transferred into the early evolutions of these highly regarded shock absorbers.
The shock absorbers were proving their worth and with interest from other off roaders, Robertson and Linklater decided to form the company ‘Roboshocks’, which would eventually become RedRoo Shocks. The key contributor to the product’s early success was word of mouth, with the unique design and durability of the shocks a main talking point for customers. Despite little marketing investment, the customer base continued to expand.
The quality and innovation being showcased by RedRoo eventually drew interest from key players in the transport industry, who were attracted to the potential of RedRoo developing shock absorbers of similar quality for the heavy vehicle market. Combining their experience and knowledge, in 2004 the RedRoo team started development of shock absorbers tailored to the requirements of this market.

The HV500 is our new premium twin tube shock absorber, designed for those looking for a low cost high quality shock that will outperform the standard replacement. The HV500’s HUGE size allows for the largest oil capacity of any shock of its type. It also has a heavy duty body, massive shaft and extra tough construction which ensure long life and faultless performance.

RedRoo Air Kits
One of the key benefits of a RedRoo HV2000 is the ability to change the shock absorbers dampening forces by adjusting the air pressure in the side chamber. A RedRoo shock is factory set at 50psi, however this can be changed anywhere in the range of 20psi to 100psi to enable softer or firmer ride characteristics. Whilst the shock can be adjusted manually via the schrader valve fitted on the side chamber (just like pumping up a tyre), as an upgrade RedRoo also offer 2 separate Air Kits. The RedRoo Front Airkit (RRK001) enables the steer shocks to be connected to the vehicles air supply and adjusted via a regulator and a RedRoo Rear Airkit (RRK002) which enables the drive shocks to be connected to the vehicles air bag suspension (if applicable). Further details regarding each airkit are included below:
The RedRoo Front Airkit (RRK001) enables the customer to connect the shock absorbers from the side chamber to the vehicles air supply. Included in the kit is a regulator, which gives the driver the ability to easily adjust the air pressure to the steer shocks. It also ensures a constant flow of air to the steer shocks at all times. One single RRK001 kit does both front shocks and has a recommended retail price of $199 + GST
To take advantage of one of the HV2000’s key benefits we recommend all drive shocks should be purchased with a RedRoo Rear Air Install kit (RRK002) where an airbag suspension is applicable. The RedRoo Rear Air kit includes all fittings and lines required to connect RedRoo drive shocks to the vehicles air suspension, which enables the shocks to automatically adjust to suit the airbag pressure for a loaded or unloaded vehicle. One single RRK002 kit does all 4 drive shocks and has a recommended retails price of $125 + GST

Organised by the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) since its inception in 1968, the Brisbane Truck Show is held every two years and attracts approximately 290 exhibitors and up to 40,000 attendees.
As the largest event of its type in the southern hemisphere, the Brisbane Truck Show stands alone as the premier event in Australia for the transport industry showcasing the latest in heavy vehicles, technology, engineering and innovation.

The 2014 edition of Melbourne’s International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show has seen record attendance for the fourth consecutive time.
Visitor numbers are just below the magic 40,000 mark, according to a first estimate Show organisers published today. Show Director, Clint Hendry, said 39,500 exhibitors, trade and public visitors flocked to the Melbourne Showgrounds over the course of the four-day event – equating to six per cent increase over 2012.
“Pre-registrations were up 83 per cent in 2014, with 13,206 people signing up before the gates opened as compared to 7,218 in 2012,” Hendry added.
“I am happy to announce the fourth consecutive increase in visitor numbers, which is a remarkable achievement for the fourth instalment of an event. We have also seen the fourth consecutive increase in exhibit numbers this year – proving that we continue to build a great tradition here in Melbourne.”
Just a friendly reminder that RedRoo Shocks will have a stand at the upcoming Melbourne Truck Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Our stand number is MA29, which is located in the main exhibition hall. The show runs for 4 days from this Thursday the 3rd to Sunday the 6th of April, with opening times of 10am to 5pm (4pm on Sunday).
The International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show is the largest dedicated transport show in the Southern Hemisphere. The 2014 show will showcase over half a billion dollars of 'new age' technology and equipment from major truck and trailer manufacturers and ancillary equipment suppliers.
All types of truck and trailer configurations, large materials-handling equipment, parts, accessories, navigation, communication and additional products associated with the transportation industry will be on display. Also on display will be a large collection of Australia's most valued heritage and vintage trucks and vehicles.

RedRoo Shocks
In January 2014, RedRoo Shocks commenced a trial with Wakefields Transport to test the performance of the HV2000 truck shocks in harsh conditions.
RedRoo Shocks were connected as four drive shocks to a Western Star Constellation with an Airliner rear suspension so they can read the air pressure and adjust accordingly to a loaded or unloaded configuration. RedRoo connected the two steer shocks to the vehicle’s air supply and regulated the air supply, this is to assist with the handling and control of the vehicle.
The initial comments from the driver stated that, the vehicle has better handling features and the is not jarring as much as other vehicles. We are looking forward to further results of the trial related to tyre wear and longevity.

Fitting out 6 RedRoo HV200 shocks on a new Kenworth T609 for Sunraysia Transport. The 2 steer shocks are connected to the vehicle air supply, giving the driver the ability to regulate and adjust pressure from the cab. The 4 drive shocks are connected to the Airglide suspension, which enables the shocks to read the airbag suspension and automatic adjustment to manage loaded or unloaded weights.
The end result is a better quality of ride, improved handling and less wear on tyres.

Last year was a huge year for RedRoo, with significant milestones such as the finalisation of the licensing agreement with Roboshock International and our first product (HV2000) hitting the market in early December. Months of hard work was spent on R&D, setting up new manufacturing operations and establishing the new brand, which all came to fruition when our first shocks were sent out on the 4th of December and RedRoo Shocks was officially launched.
The HV2000 shocks were in high demand with over 40% of them sold prior to our first delivery and throughout Decembe r the orders continued to flood in. To date feedback from drivers regarding the new shocks has been overwhelmingly positive. First time buyers of the product are quick to point out the improvement they have made to ride quality and handling.
During the later months of last year we also secured trials with 6 major transport fleets and added 10 dealers to our network across Australia. Numbers we predict will significantly grow throughout this year.
We also continue to see a large number of existing Roboshock customers purchasing the RedRoo product. A trend we have identified with existing Roboshock customers has been that drive shocks have significantly outsold steers shocks. In December 2013, RedRoo Shocks will commence a trial with Noske Logistics to test the performance of the RedRoo HV2000 truck shocks in harsh conditions in Portland Victoria.
RedRoo will connect the four drive truck shocks to a Noske Prime Movers airbag so they can read the air pressure and adjust accord to a loaded or unloaded configuration. We will also connect the two steer truck shocks to the vehicle’s air supply and regulate, this will assist with the handling and control of the vehicle.

Just has been the case with our HV2000 shocks there has also been a high level of interest in our upcoming HV1000, Cab and 4WD shock absorbers. Initial test results have been extremely promising and we are still on track for release in mid 2014.
Using the same patented RedRoo technology our HV1000 looks similar to other shocks on the market, however its pressurised chamber provides an extra dampening capability, setting it apart from the rest. With the similar characteristics as the HV2000 and at a lower price, it will be the perfect solution for light trucks, trailers and drivers on a budget.

Following a licensing agreement between Roboshock International and Assemco Pty Ltd we are pleased to announce the arrival of REDROO SHOCKS.
RedRoo Shocks is a newly-formed entity, responsible for the full manufacture and global distribution of the shock absorbers previously sold under the Roboshock name “Boundless Rider”.
An improved product at a reduced price
The quality of our shock absorbers has been improved. An upgrade of the seal assembly and the addition of a 25mm microcracked hardened shaft have resulted in a much more robust shock. Best of all, due to an increase in manufacturing capabilities and higher sales forecast, our HV2000 shocks (pictured right) will retail for 30% less under the RedRoo name. Yes, you heard right, the product is not only improved, it’s significantly cheaper.
With the first set of RedRoo Shocks due to come off the production line in mid November 2013, orders are filling fast.

Recently our Business Development Manager Mark Rigoni and Sales & Marketing Manager Luke Clarke ventured up to Brisbane for the 2013 Brisbane Truck Show. Event organisers concluded that this year’s event was a huge success, with visitor numbers up across all days of the event, eclipsing the successful 2011 Show.
The event provided us with a great insight into what is happening in the industry and gave us a chance to network with our peers. We were particularly impressed by the display put on by Kenworth Trucks, a long standing working partner of Assemco Pty Ltd (our parent company).
A highlight of the day was the inaugural People’s Choice Award for the Best Presented Truck of the Show, which was conducted through the Brisbane Truck Show Facebook page, going to Cat Trucks for its CAT CT630 LS.
We are certainly looking forward to setting up our first truck show display in Melbourne next year.
RedRoo Shocks recently conducted a performance field test on our HV2000 series monotube shock absorbers using a fully loaded prime mover. The prime mover was coupled with a fully loaded B-double trailer weighing 48 tonnes.
